Well first of all I think if you are a grown adult you should have more important things to do than bully your 13 year old neighbor whose parents helped you move into your house. My reaction is shocked at this because why would anyone play on a joke on a young teen girl who obviously has low self esteem problems. Thats just not nice. The mother who did this should have to pay. I believe people are cyper-bullied everyday . More than 100 teens everyday in the U.S. I think we could help by teaching teens on how to handle this if it happens to them. We have enough evidence to show what could happen.

I was in shock when i saw this video because i would never think that a mom would actually create a faulty myspace and hurt a human so badly that she committed sucicide. I think that people are cyperbullied everyday. People should report any case of this as soon as possible because if they don't things could happen such as Megan Meier's incident.
My reaction to Megan Meier's story is sadness because some people are mean and say things that are selfish and they take bulllying to another level by asking people to go kill themselves. And some take it into consideration. I feel that cyberbullying happens all the time whether between total strangers or friends that are kidding around. I would that to stop bullying period is impossible, but to help cyberbully, I think parents could inform their child frequently about these situation. Or there could be more presentations in schools because just saying it once doesn't get the point across.
i think megans storey is very sad. because you shouldnt belive what people say. and you shouldnt talk to people you dont no on a.i.m or mayspace. or any thing. i think you can stop it by not talking to any one you do not no. or if some one says something you dont want to here you should to a preant or some one who can do something about this sittion.
My reaction to Megan Meier’s story is wow. How could someone do something to a little girl or in any case any girl or person. Bullying is a huge problem in the world. People bully to make themselves feel important.
I know people are bullied everyday in school, on the phone, on the net, in public, or even at home.
Nothing should be done to stop cyberbullying. If people want to fall in love with someone on the net then they are going to be the stupid ones and if someone wants to fake their identity to bully someone on the net then let them. They will go to prison for the rest of their life knowing that the\y killed someone with words.
I was really shocked from Meghan's story. It was a really sad story but I don't think she should have killed herself because of what other people said. She should have talked to her parents or someone adult instead of committing suicide. I think people are cyber bullied very often. To stop cyber bullying, in my opinion people should stop giving personal information to people who they don't know.
Cyber Bullying is never acceptable.Unfortunately it has happened to almost every kid who has/had an internet account. As far as what happened with Megan,Pretending to make up an identity and also getting her to like you is just straight up wrong. This story really makes me sad.I think people are cyber bullied almost every week. It`s terrible and people are just jerks. As far as stopping cyber bullying, people should just wake up and stop being so mean.People hide behind they`re computers and say things because it makes them feel more powerful for some reason. When it comes to saying it to your face,You feel not nearly as powerful.
All I can say is WOW! My reaction to Megan's story is wow. It's so sad that they had to go through that pain of losing her daughter. Even worse is that they are getting a divorce because of that. I just can believe that there close friends would even think of that sick idea. I think many people are cyperbullied on myspace and etc. What I think can and should be done to stop cyber bulling is before you send it to someone is think before you act.
My reaction to what happened to Megan Meier is that why would anyone want to hurt someone in the first place. In the end it will not turn out good. I think that people are cyberbullied everyday. It might not be as bad as Megans story but people can still get hurt bad. To stop cyberbullying you can tell others the consequences and it will get around that everone will know and stop doing it.
my reaction on megan meier's story is that i cant belive a 36 year old mom would want to do something like that to a 13 year old kid. that is so rude. i think alot of kids are cyberbullied. people make up so many rumors about other people, that is just gets around to everyone and the other people think it is true. which it is not true. thats why so many teenagers are not happy with themselves. what should me done is that kids just need to stop bulling other kids. it is just so heartbreaking!! :)
1. What is your reaction to Megan Meier's story?
2. How often do you think people are cyberbullied? (MySpace, IM, text message, etc.)
3. What can and/or should be done to stop cyberbulling?
My reaction to Meagan Meiers story is that is was not fair that she was ticked by somebody. I think people are cyberbullied all the time but you just don't know it. I think the way they can stop cyberbulling by right when those peolpe send those comments somebody in charge of that web site should get it and chick out what is going on.
My reaction of the stories was one of suprise because this time the crime was taken seriously. Now they realized that cyberbullying is going too far. Anything that is written that is hurtful can harm you. When on a computer you might not find out who the person is, it might be a fourty-three year old. I think it is a good thing that charges were made against this mother. I think cyberbullying occurs daily because there are millions of people on the internet that are talking to each other. I think laws should be written and enforced. I think all kinds of bullying should be taught in the schools and shared with parents too. Everyone should learn how to deal with bullies.
After reading and watching the video, I didn't know what to think. I always thought that if you know what you are doing and who you are talking to then you have no problem. But after reading how, it can be one person in writing but someone else on the other side of the screen. You never know what you are getting your self into.
To think about how often people get cyber bullied everyday is hard. In my mind I think everyday. To stop cyber bulling I think the people who make websites like MySpace and Facebook should find some way to check the age of people who sign up for an account.
I think that what megan did was just dum and stupid to go kill herself because of a rumer that she know is not even true. I also think that the mother shouldnt even interfere with her daughter's problems THAT WAY. I know that people are Cyberbulling a lot on Myspace and other chat programs. I think that adults should start talking to kids and warning them about Cyberbulling. Just like Mrs.Santana
WOW! My reaction is very, very surprised. Why would someone bully another person so bad that they would hang themselves. I think people are cyberbullied alot. There have been deaths and arrests before for it. To stop it, I think myspace, IM, and text messaging should have sencers on them where whenever it reads that a harmful, or hatred messeage is there, then it will send a message to the FBI.
I think its horrible that people bully each other online it cause low selfesteem issues and like this story suicide.I hear about cyberbulling all the time myspace, fae book even websites i like. Some websites have the choice to block a user from your page thats a good way to stop cyberbulling.
My reaction to Megan Maier's story is wow how could any mother do that. She had no evidence megan maier was bullying her child. I think alot of people are cyberbullied. I think that they should monitor or make a program that when the program sees there is cyberbullying occuring they shut there computer down, delete there myspace , or delete their aim. I think meagan maier's mom should go to schools and talk about her daughters story.
The reaction I got was very upsetting. I think bullieng occurs everyday, all day. Theres no way to hide from bull1. What should be done to stop it is, to shut down all of those websites like myspace and facebook
I think it is just sad. I think people are cyberbullied every day. Just ignore what people say about you.
My reaction to this story is that I think it is terrible what that women did and can`t believe someone would do that at that age. People are probably cyberbullied all of the time. To stop cyberbulling the people getting bullied should either stop talking to that person or tell someone if it is threatening.
I think that cyberbullying is realy bad and people should stop doing it. In the case of the video with the girl who comited suiside was all the ladies fault. I personaly think that its good that the lady went to jail!
When I first saw that I was like how could anyone do that if they don't even know if it was true? In the video it said that she thought that her daughter was getting bullied and it was not a fact. I think people are gitting bullied everyday on Myspace. The age to have a Myspace is 14 and nobody under that age should have one. In order to stop cyberbulling you should not accept people to be your friend if you dont know them. You could end up being Megan if you are not careful.
I was extremely shocked after I saw these. I knew that there were adults taking advantage of kids online. I also knew about cyber bullying. But I have never heard of an adult cyber bullying because her daughter was bullied. I think that is very hypocritical. She should have handled it like a mature adult and not like a child. She should have gone to Mrs. Meier and talked it over. She handled the situation all wrong, especially since she knew that Megan suffered from depression and has talked about suicide before. I personally don’t like MySpace because I have heard a lot of stories like this one. I do have other IM accounts like that though and I can not deny that there have been reports of cyber bullying on IM and other accounts as well. I think any kind of bullying is horrible. I hear about cyber buying all the time. It is really not rare. It happens very often. I think that people, kids especially, shouldn’t add people they don’t know. They also shouldn’t give their friends or anyone their passwords and other personal information. You never know when friends turn to enemies and next thing you know, you are getting hate messages and being cyber bullied. We always hear about this stuff but we think it will never happen to us, we still need to watch out and be careful of what we say or do on the Internet.
Wow! Is all I can come up with. That is just crazy that she would take that so seriously. And I think she is kind of dumb going out with someone she has never met before. And I am almost sure this happens everyday. To prevent this kids should get smarter about the situation and not learn to trust people they have never met before in their life.
I felt so bad for the parents becase they found their daughter in her closet dead. I think people are cyber bulied everyday because of something that person did. To stop cyber bullying, computers should have a censr to certain words so those harmful words can't be sent to people.
My reaction to Megan Meier's story is i was very sad and hurt that someone could do that to a young girl and make her kill herself.
I think people are cyberbullied alot because they have nothing eles do do and do not no how bad it is.
What can and/or should be done to stop cyberbulling is that no one should talk to people they dont no over the internet and not to beleave them.
My reaction to the Megan Meier story is shock. Maybe her daughter was getting bullied but you have no right to pretend to be someone just to hurt a person. Even though that is not right but it is worse to tell person that they don't deserve to live and make them so upset they commit suicide. I think cyber bullying happens everyday. Most of the time the bully has no idea that they are even bullying the person. I think on these websites if it mean then it can't be sent. Also we have to teach them that bullying hurts.
Cyberbullying should be stopped because alot of things happen like this tragic incident.Every body knows there is cyberbullying but are too afraid to say something. people should really talk about cyberbullying more so kids would know how to handle the situation better.
One word.Wow. First of all, The woman who created the myspace was acting like a child. The sad thing is, cyberbullying happens alot. Some people feel like they have more power because they are not talking face to face.So they take advantage of other people. And if they dont succeed in that, they create new people. who dont exist. That is what happened here. I cant believe a mother, who knew the whole situatuation with that girl, could do such a thing. And i think if you have to resort to cyber bullying, you should talk to someone. Because it is very wrong.
My reaction to Megan Meiers story it made me think what she would have done if she knew about Rachels challenge. It iis very shocking that somebody can get so emotionly desturbed the they would go and kill them selfs. I think that cyberbulling is still happening today but people are doing something about it.
I think that what megan did wasnt one of the best choices there is. I think people are cyber bullied alot theses days and kids may not say anything untill they feel like they are going to kill themselves because of one person that is bullying them through a computer. To stop cyberbullying i would just stop talkin to that person that i think is bullying me and/or tell a grown-up or parent what he/she is doing to you.
I think this is a very sad story. I mean who does that to a 13 year old girl. The girl got so upset she committed suicide , you never mess with anyones feelings.Very often because people have nothing better to or it makes them feel better about themselves. People who are bullied in general should speak up because the will feel worse and worse about themselves everyday.
The news shocked me because a girl like Megan should be more aware of what would happen if she continue talking to the person online. Parents play a big role in this, what kind of parent doesn't see there child getting emotional over something and do not even ask about it or see it happening. It's like Megan is living alone by herself. People are probably getting cyber-bullied everyday when he or she is on the computer because when you talk to someone that you just met doesn't know how old you are. They might bully you because he or she doesn't know you. Parents should be more aware of what there kids are doing on the computer and the kids themselves should know who and who not to talk to and stop talking when it gets to a certain level.
I thought that Megan Meier's story was very upsetting. I think that people are cyberbullied everyday either on myspace or over text messages. I think that cyberbulling can be stopped by having more protection for people on the internet and for people to not talk others they do not know. I think what the other mom did was terrible and she should have conquences for what she did to Megan and for cyberbulling her.
My reaction to the story was shock and disgust. How could a teenage daughter's mother bully hoer daughter's ex-friend on myspace. It is just horrible. Cyber-bullying is happening everyday. What is the point to it? It is stupid. I think that we should prevent this by having a word scanner thing that will not accept messages like the ones that the girl recieved.
My reaction when I saw it was frightning. I couldent believe what i was hearing. Thats horrible of what the woman did. And Megan doesent deserve that. No one does. I think people are cyber bullied alot. I see it in my school and its probobaly just the same or even worse in another school. I think when someone gets a message like that they should call the person on talk to them in face to face so at least you know who you are talking to. People who cyber bully or bully at all needs to stop because it hurts other peoples feeling and something could happen exactly like what happend to Megan.
I cant believe someone has suecided because some adult has been cyber bulling a 13 year old that has problems with their feelings. I think people are beign cyber bullied every day, but i think that some people just dont care about what other people say, or believe its a lie. I think that the goverment should make some divace that can hack peoples authority and catch the ones who are cyber bulling, and block those messages before they get sent.
Cyperbullying is a very bad thing, and happens often. When people are on computer things like myspace or aim, they should only talk to friends of family of which they have met before. Megans mom is a very bad person and shouldn't handle things the way she does, it is better to handle tings in person. I feel very soory for megan and that was no reason to commit suicide, and the mother should feel very sorry.
I was really shocked to read the articule and see this video. I think that the mom who made up the fake boy was really mean to that to somebody. I think that people are cyberbullied all the time and most people don't do anything about it. What we could do to prevent cyberbullying is really watch who we talk to and what we say on the Internet.
I think that that story about megan is very sad. The mom schould be in jail for the rest of her life. Making a child take her own life is just plain wrong.
I think her mom is realy not nice to creat a myspace to broke up with her boy friend it realy bad to have a mom like thet she should be arsted to do that at her girl of 13 years old.
MySpace Cyderybulling. Is this really what the world has come too? It's not bad enough we have real life bullying, but why take it to the internet where you never know who you’re really talking to. Watching the video on Miss. Megan Meier's story was harsh, cruel, disgusting, painful to watch, and it makes my stomach sick. All these words describe how I felt watching her story because a MOTHER, not a teenage, A MOTHER, made a fake MySpace and fake identity I guess you could say, and went and hurt that pour, young girl verbally causing Megan to physically hurt her self, by killing herself. Megan didn't do anything bad to this woman, and even If she did, Megan didn't deserve to get hurt like that. Megan seemed like a kind of nice girl from what I've seen, why would a MOTHER do that. How would that mother like if someone did this to her kids? Yea not so much huh! That mother needs to be put in jail for life. I think that Cyber bullying happens all the time. The question shouldn't be how often does it happen, but who does it and who does it happen to. Im sure almost every one of these kids in this school have had it happen to them or they are the ones that are doing it. I really think there need to be a stop to this bullying. I think we need to start tracking what people type and if anyone at all uses something violent like "Im going to hurt you, only worse words" should be arrested or something right then and there! Let’s stop Cyber bulling because it’s a disgrace.
My reaction with Megan Mejer's story is that shocking and it can can cause someones life like Megan Mejer's. I think that poeples are cyberbullied everyday that they get in the computer and go to my space and all that, and they think is just a game but it's not .What should be done to stop cyberbulling is to make something that prevents grown ups to sign up in teenergers websites.
my reaction to Megan Meier's story was shockness. I would never ever think that a 49 year old woman could be that immature and make up a myspace to crumble Meagan's life to tiny peices.Im extreamly happy to hear that the mom got convicted and she should feel TERRIBLE! i really wonder how bad she felt after she found out that a little tiny pay back could turn into a suicite act. My gosh!. I think that cyberbullying is happining everywhere 24/7 in this messed up world. Its up to us to stop it. I mean we can only control our own behavior so its pretty your desision to end this now. RIP Meagan Meier <3
I can't believe that a 49 year old woman would go and create a myspace account just to bully her daughters ex-friend just because of some rumors. I feel bad for the Meier Family and their loss of Megan, but what kind of trashy people get back at someone by creating a fake profile and attack and offend someone so much that they end up taking away their own lives. I think that people are cyberbullied all the time whether or not they are joking about it but some people may take things seriously than you think. I think that the laws so be more updated about myspace and punishments but their should be a scanner that reads every message and tell if the message seems harmless or mean and then tell the messenger to edit or fix it, or to just ignore it.
WOW! I cannot believe a mother would do that. she must feel so guilty. Also i feel bad for megan because she felt so badly for her self. I think people should report cyberbullying.
Jestin C PERIOD 5
I think bullying is bad for students, especially to your neighbor. I can't believe that why would any one do this bullying to a teen girl, who especially has her own little problems. I think the words hurt her feelings and I think the mother even love her own children and she could thought that this is funny, she must be put in jail. I think we must help the teens by teaching them or showing this video to make them know that if this happens to them. I think the video helped us that if this happens we know to handle this. Thank you for the video, I loved it.
I can't believe this story and how not only an adult but also a MOTHER could do this. I understand wanting to protect your daughter, but not to this extent. I was surprised when i first heard this story! I think people get cyberbullied alot over text message and mostly myspace. People think they have more guts if they say it not face to face. Although I don't see how this can be prevented, I think by getting the word out about this story and becoming more public with others, it will happen less.
I read about this in a people magizine about 2 months ago and while I read it i started crying. Then seeing that video brought back tears! seriously does this mom have no life at all that she would do something like that? I mean I guess she was protecting her daughter but, come on toying with a teenagers feelings! wow! honestly there is no way to completly stop it, but one way to provent it is...
1.Don't bully younger children.
2.Dont talk to stragers on myspace!
I know what the mom was thinking when she did this. what the worst that can happen? she crys! No, the worst thing obviouly that could happen is she kills herself and no one deserves to die that way. Espically so young. she had a whole life ahead of her! NO matter how bad the rumors were about the womans daughter. thier obviously not as bad as suicide. You still have your daughter but one unlucky woman doesn't have one anymore!
I was shocked when I read Megan's story. It's bad enough that kids have to deal with being cyberbullied by people their own age. They shouldn't have to worry about being cyberbullied by adults, too. It was an awful thing what that mother did and she should be punished. Although what that mother did was wrong, I also don't think the girl should of killed herself just because of 1 boy, especially 1 that she never met in person. I think cyberbullying happens every day. A way to help prevent it is by not even GIVING you email,AIM,cell phone number, or Myspace name to anyone you don't know. You should always set your Myspace page to private.
Megan story is sad but dumb first she should not care for what other people think if the fake boy said the world is better with out you then just dont listen to them everybody was put on this planet for a reason not to be treated that way. I think every day someone is being cyberbullied, there is a lot of people in the world one is being bullied. What should be done is more secret rooms and if you add a friend on myspace or any other site your mom or dad should be notified by a phone call or email and in that email or phone call there sholud be the file of the person. Also when you get an invite to add them as your friend you should need a password for you and your mom or dad that you both keep secret and different passwords for both.
That was crazy because why would the mom do that you can just tell her to stop or tell the parents. Or just don't belive what they say or who they are.
I think that the mother was very wrong on what she did. Obviously the mother didnt realize what the girls reaction could have ben. I think teens or anyone is cyper builed almost everyday. To stop Cyper bullying, i think that computers should automatically send bad language to the Police.
My reaction to Megan Meier's story is very heart braking to know that someone would do this to a young girl. I think people get cyberbullied everyday. I think you can stop cyberbullied by not talking to people on MySpace and aim that you don’t know.
Cyberbulling is very common amoung teenagers, but when an adult gets involved you would think it were to resolve the promblem in the right way but in this case it shocked me to see an adult would make a false account and make up rumors. You never know how a person would react to being bullied and some people just think of the worst thing and commit suicide.I think cyberbulling happens everyday probably even right this second.I think the way to solve this problem is to juat inform people about stories just like this one to teenagers and as we see can even adults.
This story is just unbelievable. I can’t believe that some people (especially adults) would go and harass a teenage girl like that. If Lori Drew thought her daughter was being bullied, she should have handled it like an adult and spoke to Ms. Meier or something. I think that people are cyber bullied just about all the time. People think that if they say something over the internet, it's not that bad or the victim will never know who they are. Also, people can just go and copy and paste what someone else said or change the words to make them seem like they’re the bad guy. It would be really hard to STOP cyber bulling completely, but for starters, people shouldn’t add or talk to people they don't know. It usually just ends up bad.
its really hard to believe that a mom would even think of making up a fake person. i mean come on dont she have better things to do then be a fake man. im shocked and sad that someone could do this, thats my reaction to megan meier's story.
how often do i think people are cyberbullied, well everyday, which is horably sad. i believe these people that are cyberbullied should be fined and/or go to jail. i hear that they are geting a scraner that can find out who is geting cyberbullied, which is great. i really hope what ever they do or get will help stop cyberbulling.
its really hard to believe that a mom would even think of making up a fake person. i mean come on dont she have better things to do then be a fake man. im shocked and sad that someone could do this, thats my reaction to megan meier's story.

Well to tell you the truth, i was amazed someone would take their own life and just because of drama over a boy, the girl never even met before. I mean what is this world coming down to? Yes, I very much understand the depression stuff and the ADD. A very close friend of mine has it too. Plus, I used to go through some depression when i was in 5th and 6th grade. But never would I ever have the gutts to hang myself.
Hundreds of people are probably bullied on myspace everyday, i wouldnt doubt it for a second. Truely, I dont think it will stop either. Fighting and all that kind of stuff has been around since people arrived and I dont think there will ever be a true peace. So, wiether you make laws against bullying or not. The bullying wont stop. I truely believe theres nothing that can be done. I guess parents should watch their childred better, but hey nobodys perfect right?
My opinion of this situation is that she should now have committed succicide over some make believe boy. And if the boy was real still it’s just a boy. If I were her I would have moved on and forgot about the “boy”. Also I do not think many people are cyber bullied because it is way too easy to do and if u is getting cyber bullied you need to go outside and make real friends because the bullies can’t reach you out in the real world. I think we need to teach our teens to learn how to avoid cyberbullieing by going out and making new “real” friends. Another thing is to for those who are getting cyber bullied you can just leave whatever you are going like aim just make a new account not that hard. And also move to MySpace or something else and if you think it is too much work to make a new account then stop being lazy and do so!!
I am quite surprised about Megan Meier's actions. It takes a lot of hate and doubt to even develop the thought of suicide and to actually commit such an irrational act is incredible. Either this lady is a charismatic genius or this girl had some other personal problem. I think people are cyber bullied quite frequently, but if one is being bullied through "virtual space" than why not just break away instead of listening to someone talk such nonsense about you. Cyber bullying can be stopped by simply unplugging your PC or by restricting cyber communication to trusted friends.
I feel that Megan Meier's story is very sad and depressing. I that that was a terrible thing to do to a 13 year old girl, expecialy because there were adults inolved in the cyberbullying. I believe that kids get cyberbullied everyday. I feel that kids should tell parents if they are being cyberbulliey so they can help them through the situation.
Does that women not have a dughter? Megan Meier's ex friend? Then what the heck is going on with that lady? Seriously. What if that would have happened to her daughter, she would be the one letting out the tears. That story is seriously shocking. Like, yeah i know it has defently happened before, but think about others and not only yourself. People are cyberbullied every day. Hey I get cyberbullied. Everyone does, but we got a higher self esteem. Unlike that weird mom that new Megan was depressed about herslef. That is not called a mother. Myspace, aim, texting, msn, or any kind of not face to face contact should not exist for those reasons, so if I were to be the president I would make all that illegal. Where are our values! Please get that mom to prison!
Wow, All I can say is that whoever would actually spend there time bringing a teenage girl with depressing to hate herself even more is aweful. I don't even understand why people cyberbully. If the mom wanted to know if the girl was talking about her daughter she could have asked some of her daughters friends who knew the girl. I think this is a sick and twisted thing, and the worst part is the mom who was behind making the "Josh" fake myspace account will have to live with knowing she was the reason that Megan killed herself. When you are 13 years old and in middle school kids constantly fight and become bestfriends the next day, its normal so I don't understand why the fight between these two girls are so diffrent from every other teenage girls in middle school to make this mom want to do something like that.I think the mom intention all along was to get Megan to commit suicide because she knew that she already battled depression.
I don't think,I know that thousands of kids are cyberbullied daily because of there weight, height, culture, clothes, personality and I think its wrong that people do that, personaly I think people who are diffrent are cool because there so diffrent and unique. If people would just be consercned with there life they wouldn't have to cyperbully. Also most teenagers cyberbully because there to chicken to say anything to anyones face like a adult, it seems as the computer screen is like there first mouth.
Honestly I don't think ALOT can be done to help cyber bullying, but the little things like not adding people you don't know, or if you don't like a certian person don't add them as your friend on myspace or talk to them on aim because it will only cause problems.
I feel that it is a very sad story. She was very young to be put through so much pain caused by an adult. I do not feel bad for the family that caused that whole problem. They did it intentionally to hurt her feelings. They knew about her low self-esteem, the person that created the fake person should of thought what if their child was the one being put through the same pain.
I think cyberbulling happen alot. The only thing I think is that people take different because we all have different ways of taking things. Some people are sensitive and can get their feelings hurt very easily, and some can lead them to do something similar to the Megan Meier"s story. There are other people that have a tougher attitude. They would either fight back or leave it alone. I thinks it depends on the person and the way the message is sent.
What I think can or should be done to stop cyberbulling is create more specific rules and enforce them on the website. They should let people know that cyberbulling and other negative messages are not acceptable.
I think that It was stupid for that mother to bully little kids until they want to die. Especially since that girls parents helped them move in next door. I think that mother deserves to be treated the same way she treated that teen wich is now dead.
I think that you are a real loser if you're a grown adult and you play a trick on a little teenage girl. I mean, it it is a 11 year old boy saying "Haha you're a poopface" It's kind of different. I really am horrified that this adult did this. I mean, Come on! Don't you have something better to do? I guess alot of people get cyberbullied everyday, but I have yet to have been cyberbullied, or have any friends that have ever been cyberbullied. But there is one easy solution to all this- don't talk to anyone you don't know. Wow, I wrote alot. =)
I think that if you help someone move into thier house they will be nice to you. but not in megans case. why would someone want to do that. i mean bully people, its just wrong and disgusting. i can only hope that this wont happen again.
I think that its sad that a 13 year old girl should be bullied by her neighbor online. People should be able to find something to do rather then to bully people online. ITS SICK. How would they feel if every day they where told to kill themselves. Many people get bullied through the internet every day. Laws should be passed that the conversations on the internet should be monitered.
Wow! Is all I can come up with. That is just crazy that she would take that so seriously. And I think she is kind of dumb going out with someone she has never met before. And I am almost sure this happens everyday. To prevent this kids should get smarter about the situation and not learn to trust people they have never met before in their life.
I think it is sad that someone died over a mom getting mad about somting. My thoughts are that you should not talk to people that are going to be mean to you or just ignore their comments. Also i think that this would be a good way to help stop or reduce it because if someone if being mean to you ignore them dont comment or message back thats what they want you to do.
I was shocked after i read that article.
People sometimes are so dumb.
Why did they had against her ? Just because she was fat ?
What if he was fat ? Would she started sending her messages to kill himself ?
Yeah those were very mean messages, but that's not a reason to go comite suicide ...
This story is very scary and so realistic and when I first read it I felt scared that this could happen to me or anyone any day. After I thought about it for a little while I thought Megan could have easily averted this. On myspace you should only add people that you truley know and if you add someone and that person seems werid or is harrasiong you all you have to do is either delet them or tell your parents.
I really don't understand why someone would play a joke on someone like this. I don't think it is really nice. I think Meghan should just not listen to what people say but its to late now. I think people do cyberbullying everyday. So i say a lot of people get bullied like this, even adults to. I think we can help by like having meetings, to show kids the effects of this.
My reaction to Megan Merir's story was shocked, and confused. Why would a grown adult pick on a 13 year old girl? What exatly was the motive? She might of been thinking it was funny and laughing at first but probly got scared to death when she heard that her bullying made the girl killed herself over what were preaty much lies. I think that cyber bullying is a very commen thing, becuase even the smallest things can hurt somone's feelings and when some one feels bad they make others feel bad to make them feel good, and what scares me is that some people do it for fun or for no real reason. What I think could be done to stop cyberbulling is have classes and speach like things sort of like Rachels Challange. The sad thing about cyberbulling is that even though you tell people to stop cyberbullying other people there will always be some person out there trying to hurt anothers feeling's.
My reaction to Megan Meiers story is very sad becuase their shouldnt be a reason for grown up to do things like that i think they should get a life, becuase i think it's really sad that a mother lost her daughter becuase some grown ups dont have nothing better to do than to create someone fictional, and i also think it's really sad that people get cyberbully all the time becuase of their apperance, religion, race, or just becuase somebody doesnt like that person, i think the best way to stop cyberbullyng is to make everyone show an ID when creating a myspace or a use a student ID.
Bryan period 1 The story is sick and distasteful, it sickens me that a grown women would ever do such a thing to a young girl.to think that a grown women like that would go on just to try to make a young girls life worse by pretending to be her friend then hurting her like that. Many kids take things differently then others, im sure the women did not know it would cause that much harm but she should still pay the fine and go to jail for more then a small 3 years.I think many kids are cyberbullied everyday, and to take advantage of a person that way is just outrageous. One thing i think that can be done is for kids to try not to let any of what other people ssay to them get to them.Tthey should just try to ingnore any comments made by other people.I dont know wat else to do about this but not let stupid comments get to people and just forget about them and go on with your life not careing wat poeple say to you or about you.

I thinck if a guy goes and bullies a thirteen year old girl with such a low self estme and i do thinck people are bullied every every day on myspace and other websites and there should bhe compute monotors on the computer to stop it.
My reaction to Megan Meier’s story is WOW.
How could some one do that to someone else I mean like why would some one even bully someone like that even if they don't know the truth they are just making stuff up. People shouldn't be doing that to other people. I mean yeah I bully people but not bad and its wrong I should stop n so should everyone else. I don't think he should of bullied his thirteen year old neighbor. Especially since the mom helped him move into his house it was very wrong of him to do something like that he was older than her and now look what happened. I don't think that he thought it would get to be that far but look it did and it was his fault. I think that there were other ways she could handle things instead of committing suicide. But I have heard of this before and I think it is wrong. I think that many people everyday get cyber bullied on myspace, or aim, or even little game sites that people go on. And it is completely wrong. And that is what i have to say about this video and the article.
this story is very very sad. what kind of person would do that? that is my reaction. telling someone to kill them selvs is really bad. i think cyber bullying happens all the time and will be almost impossible to stop. there will always be crazy people like that in the world. no doubt about it. but you should talk to stragers that you have no idea who they are or anything. i think maybe schools should have videos or people come in about this, kinda like rachels challenge.
First i think that what happened is something that happens everyday because it has happened to me and still does sometimes i do not comet sucide just because i really dont care what people think of me. It happens very often to people around me whether they are being called weird becasue they were acting crazy one day or they are being caled stupid because they got something wrong in class. What i think should be done about this is nothing because nothing CAn be done no matter what you do kids are still going to bully other kids and ifyou tell someone than you are just called a snitch or a baby and then that just adds on to alll the other names of things that you are called. I have gone through it for most of my life and i am still a crazy over cofidente person and know can change that about me i have my ups and ddowns and i do express them on myspace most of the time but life goes on. And i have fell for guys really hard just like that girl and it actually just happened recently but i am over it now.
My reaction to Megan Meier's story was so suprized and sad i can't belive that people do this kind of thing to young teens its just heart breaking.I think that people are cyberbullied all the time and not just from older adults but from teens the same age i just don't understand why people have to be mean in life. I think that in order to stop cyberbulling there should be some kind of punishment of people who do cyberbully others.
Well I think that this incident is insane cause because why would a adult do something like this to a young teen that has a low self of esteem. When I heard this I was shock cause who is that mean to play a joke on a kid that already doesnt like themself and put them in a situation that makes them not like them self even more.I think the that this parent that did this should pay series conquences. I think that cyber-bulling happens to many teens.I think the way we could help teens is by telling them that if someone says something to you ingore them and dont worry what people say to you.
My reaction towards this video is shocked, really really shocked. that a mother would go tell a young teen to go & kill herself. i think it was kind of not completely! but kind of Megan's fault. she shouldn't go & tell rumors about a girl. i think myspace should be really for people who are 18 or older. it should also have myspace security on it. i think we can all stop it by. schools giving kids offers to join peer pressure clubs. after all our taxes to go to school's
I think what her mom did was stupid. She probly already has enough problems and drama at school so why would you do that. I think thers some cyber bullying but not alot. Its kind of hard to stop it because people still dont care if they get caught there still going to do it.
First off doing that is very wrong especially for a mother of a child. What kind of example is that mom showing to her kids now. Just because there were rumors about her saying bad things about her daughter does not mean that it is true in any case. And even if it was act like an adult for once and talk to the parent of the of the child to sort this out not become someone fake and hurt a girl emotionaly bad enough to mak her kill he self.
I the thought the story was very sad and i would never except the apology if i was the mom! i think myspace should honestly should be deleted! or atleast ask for age approval!
My reaction is that I think that is messed up.I also think that people are cyberbulling everyday but they dont take it into darastic mesuers. And if you get hate mail just dont open it.
that girl is stupid.thats my opinion, why would you kill yourself because some boy you never met in your life said he didnt like you, although that was wrong for the mother to do that
wen i slicne and watch the video about the girl how killed her self makes me sick to my stomach that a 49 year old laity would convince the girl like she was nothing and convinve her to kill her self just because she was spreading romurs about her dater she could have just comfront the girl and told her to stop or tell the principle.
I think that story was terrible i cant believe someone can do that to someone. Thats the most cold hearted thing to do and she killed herself for thats heartbreaking.
That is so sad. After I read that I felt like crying :(. Who would even think of say or doing that to anybody.I think that people are cyberbullied all of the time but I've never been cyberbullied before. I heard of this boy a long time ago. He was over weight, and one day at gym he was taking a shower. Someone got their camera phone and took a picture of him and put it on the internet. The boy was so embarrassed and humiliated so he hung himself. That is so mean and nobody should do something like that its bulling and an invation of privacy. I'm glad that they make it against the law to do that.
I think its so sad why would a mother do that to her child thats been through so much. Why would you tell your child to kill them self.
I think that what that mother was very wrong and she should be prosecuted to the fullest existent. I feel really bad for that girl but in the first place she wouldn’t have died if she didn’t like some complete stranger. I think that the government should try to prevent these kinds of things that’s what I think
